Frankly there is nothing else to be said LOL. But you know I couldn't leave it at that right? The concert was just purely amazing, everything I hoped it would be and so much more.
To start from the start, I flew up to Sydney Monday morning and a lovely photographer friend of mine, Chantelle came and picked me up from the airport. We had lunch, talked shop and then headed over to our accommodation which was near the venue. Three of Chantelle's friends were coming also and they were just such sweet girls. I felt right at home with them, even though they are city girls and I did feel a little country bumpkinish with them LOL. You know, all cute heels, skinny butts, great hair, yadda yadda yadda. And they were sweet to me and so much fun, hardly fair to have so much going for you I say. We had drinks while getting ready and then headed over to the venue for a bite to eat. I was just having such a wonderful time, even without the concert.
Just got to our seats as the lights went down and the show began. The energy and vibes in the room were amazing. The band haven't lost any of their younger enthusiasm and well, Jon was looking hot, hehe. Some might say he's had work done, I just think he has good genes LOL. He never missed a note, danced around (in a cool, tough guy way LOL) and used his cheeky grin and personality to charm the audience, Richie Sambora was suitably cool, although at times did resemble a pimp from the 70's, hehe.
They played all my favourites, and more. The concert went for 2 1/2 hours and we jumped around and sang/screamed at the top of our lungs for the entire time. I have to say my body is a little sore today with all of the throwing the hands up in the air and bobbing the head LOL. Because I'm so short it was a little hard to see but the big screen fixed that right up. The crowd participation was insane and really made us all feel like we were part of the show I think.
But the best bit of the night, without a shadow of a doubt, came about half way through. The stage went dark and then a minute or two later I heard a scream to my right and then a spotlight came on and I swear to god, there, only 2 metres away, was Jon standing on a little stage. I seriously thought I would faint from excitement. We all jumped up on our seats for a better look and he sang 3 ballads there, with Ritchie joining him for the middle one. It was unbelievable. I could've reached out and almost touched him if I wanted to. He spent this time looking slowly through the crowd, making real eye contact with whoever he could. I know I certainly thought there was a brief second when he looked at me. It sounds so high school I know but seriously for a split second I thought he saw me and I saw him and it was cool. I know other's around me felt they had a similar experience. So frankly I felt at that point I could've died and gone to heaven LOL.
The show was amazing from beginning to end and I definitely felt like a teenager again (not so much today with the aching muscles LOL). It was worth all of the money, effort, years of being a fan. I am still not down from my high and think The Singing Chef will get a little sick of me drooling over, I mean listening to, Bon Jovi over the coming weeks.
It is a definite life highlight, I'm thrilled I could go.............
Now the big question is, did I take any photos? Well I tried to get my photographer friend to sneak her amazing camera and lens in but she was too "chicken" LOL so we only had my little crappy point and shoot job to work with. Little cameras like this cannot cope with low light situations and the more you zoom in the grainier and yukky the photos get.
So this is a disclaimer, these photos are obviously not my usual standard and frankly I was jumping around so much even with a good lens and camera I think it would've been a bit hit and miss LOL. Alot were actually taken off the screen since I couldn't see very well. But it's all about recording the memory and the feel of the night for me on this occasion so take these for what they are, crappy grainy yukky wonderful hunky special memories of one of the best nights of my life........

Here's Chantelle, me and Jon, he's a little small but I always knew we'd have a photo together some day

Look at that smile, it's a smile to melt millions of hearts LOL.......

There's that smile again, sigh..............

Waving goodbye - bye boys, hope to see you again soon!

From this adventure I learned:-
* my life isn't very exciting compared to the city girls LOL (need to work on this)
* Bon Jovi are amazing live
* I don't like flying in those little Dash planes and am vowing not to anymore
* life is too short not to do the fun things I want to do
* just because a motel room costs the same as a monthly mortgage payment doesn't mean it's nice
* money can occasionally buy you happiness LOL
* that planes do still have vomit bags in the pocket in front of you
* Jon is aging very nicely indeed
* Sydney traffic scares me to death
* it's fun to feel 15 again
* that my body doesn't feel 15 anymore LOL
* that you can make beautiful real friends online
* did I mention the Sydney traffic?
* I will definitely make more time for fun stuff in 2008
Okay so as I said, the photos aren't great, but the memories are and I feel so happy today and I hope you can feel my joy!!!!!!!!!!!
